With a maximum interior capacity of 11, and a courtyard capacity of a handful more, we don’t have to tell you that The Standing Room is cosy!
Bookings are recommended during peak season, although all are welcome to drop by.
Our location, size and décor are designed to provide a unique, and quirky experience while blending modern design with traditional aspects of the architecture. With the original stone gable end facing the marina carrying on to the interior wall meeting with the copper-finished bar, and reclaimed pallet outdoor seating area, surrounded by wildlife – it all culminates in an all-round inviting atmosphere.
And of course, all are welcome – if Gin is not to your taste, we stock a variety of other local ales, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. And if you have any questions, our experienced staff will be happy to help with any queries about the drinks, allergens, or local trivia.
Children are welcome, as are well behaved pets, although fitting them all inside might be a bit of a challenge!
About Us - And Our History
The Standing Room opened in December of 2018 after an extensive renovation of the property (previously a domestic workshop), keeping most of the original stonework and architecture yet providing a modern, cosy feel to the interior.
Partnerships with local businesses and trades was vital in the development, and ongoing operation of the business – with all the interior design, masonry, and joinery being carried out by local expertise.
We make sure we have as minimal an environmental footprint as possible – using stainless steel straws, bio-friendly chemicals and any disposable items will be made from recycled and/or recyclable materials, and our lighting is provided by low energy bulbs.
